Fuel Your Mondays: Inspirational Lessons from ‘Air’
Happy Monday everyone!
Last weekend, I spent some time watching some movies. One I watched recently was Air starred by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.
It’s the story of how Nike landed Michael Jordan as a client.
While watching the movie, there were some lessons that I picked up and I wanted to share them with you guys.
So, here they are:
Lesson #1: Do the research. In the movie, Sonny watched a ton of basketball films about several players. Looking for a new prospect that will help them market their basketball shoes.
Lesson #2: Persistence. In the movie, Vaccaro had to go through several people to get his proposal approved. And even then, he also had to try and get through to Jordan’s agent and his parents. Some of our dreams are going to be tough, and that’s just how life is. But with persistence, you will always have a chance at achieving it.
Lesson #3: Personalize. There was a quote in the movie that said, “A shoe is just a shoe until you step into it.” With AI disrupting the marketing industry, there’s been a lot of content coming out of the internet. But you have to remember that you still need to infuse your personality into it. It needs to have a soul to be able to relate with other people.
